Established to provide a venue for talented artists from the greater Cape Ann area to share their work with their community, Cape Ann Chamber Music draws its performers from a pool of top-notch professionals living in the area with occasional guest musicians from beyond.

It also supports and collaborates with other local artists -- painters, photographers, actors, writers and poets -- by including displays or presentations of their work at Cape Ann Chamber Music concerts.

Concerts take place at St. Paul Church in the picturesque Lanesville section of Gloucester, MA

Highlights of recent Cape Ann Chamber Music concert programs include Messiaen's "Quartet for the End of Time," string quartets by Shostakovich, Britten and Ravel and an all-French concert featuring piano trios from the Impressionist era.

Cape Ann Chamber Music completely satisfies the need to travel to Boston for the best of classical performances. The opportunity to hear the expected classical repertoire as well as the unexpected is right here on Cape Ann. The venue, St. Paul Lutheran Church, has both acoustical excellence as well as the intimacy that chamber music requires. Cape Ann Chamber Music... a treasure.

The musicians created an enchanting program of art songs on themes of summer. The varied repertoire spanned centuries and styles, including songs for soprano, violin and piano by Debussy, Barber, Copland, Brahms and Stravinsky, as well as the haunting poetry of Housman set to music by Vaughan Williams.
